The Future of EMDR

So much of what we do in the EMDR community is anchored in teaching and learning. But the unfortunate truth is that sometimes we get caught up in the same information, protocols and rules that have been repeated for the past 30 some odd years. 

When we lose sight of developing clinical reasoning skills in our community, we lose sight of the value of what we do as EMDR therapists and Consultants. 

I’m calling on all of us in this community to think about teaching and learning with a new framework. I’m calling on all of us to demand greatness instead of goodness. 

If you’re a teacher, think about what you’re offering your students and if you’re a student, think about what’s being offered to you. 

We all deserve opportunities for greatness. And it’s time we pursue them.
